Board Members

Ngawang Dolker brings a deep commitment to education, community service, and advocacy. As an immigration attorney, she supports families and individuals navigating complex legal processes and volunteers with multiple legal aid organizations to expand access to justice. Her tireless work demonstrates a steadfast commitment to empowering communities, creating opportunities, and building pathways for future generations to thrive.

Nancy Dadak has been a leader in the Tibetan community since 1995, co-founding Tibetan Education Action (TEA) to establish the first Tibetan language school in Tingri, Tibet, and support students across Nepal, Tibet, and India. She has designed and implemented educational programs and cultural initiatives that bring Tibetan history, language, and arts to communities in Minnesota and across the U.S. With over two decades as administrator of Gyuto Monastery, leading major projects including the temple’s acquisition and renovation, Nancy brings deep experience in program development, leadership, and culturally grounded learning that enriches students’ academic and personal growth.

Erin Naveen brings over 15 years of experience helping people and organizations learn, grow, and thrive. As a dedicated mentor and lifelong learner, she is committed to shaping meaningful environments grounded in respect, equity, and compassion — where individuals are engaged, inspired, and empowered to make a positive impact in their communities and the world around them.

Ngawang Yeshi was born in Tibet and educated in India, where he began his career as a software developer in 2016. After moving to the United States in 2020, he continued his work in technology at Vanguard. Ngawang brings a unique global perspective, technical expertise, and a deep connection to Tibetan culture to the board.

Bryan Rossi is a lifelong educator, professional musician, and consultant with over 30 years of experience, including 15 years as a classroom teacher and 8 years as a school principal. He is passionate about social and emotional learning and creating environments where students thrive academically, creatively, and personally.

Joel Sundstrom is a graduate student at the University of Minnesota, pursuing a degree in School Psychology with a strong focus on supporting students’ social and emotional development. With more than a decade of experience as a teacher, lecturer, and mental health professional, he brings both expertise and dedication to the board. Joel is deeply committed to learning and fostering a supportive, inclusive school community.

Tenzin Namdul is an Assistant Professor and Director of the Tibetan Healing Initiative at the University of Minnesota’s Bakken Center for Spirituality and Healing. He holds a PhD in Medical Anthropology from Emory University and a Doctor of Tibetan Medicine degree from Men-Tsee-Khang in India. His research explores cognitive resilience, cross-cultural medicine, aging, and end-of-life care, focusing on how cultural beliefs shape well-being and approaches to care. Tenzin integrates holistic, culturally informed learning to foster students’ compassion, resilience, and ethical growth.

Khendum Gyabak is a senior education leader and cognitive scientist with over 16 years of experience in K–12 and higher education. She has worked on curriculum design, digital literacy, and community-based research in countries including Bhutan, Nepal, and Papua New Guinea. Passionate about care-based teaching and meaningful community engagement, Khendum brings a global perspective and a dedication to nurturing learning environments where students and communities can thrive.

Nicole Bates is a DEI professional, coach, consultant, and facilitator. As founder of Equity Works Consulting LLC and an IDI-qualified assessor, she helps organizations build more equitable and inclusive communities. With extensive experience in K–12 leadership and equity development, Nicole brings expertise in creating culturally responsive learning environments where all students can thrive.
OWS Board Advisors

Tenzin Sonam is an Assistant Research Scientist for SEE Learning, passionate about helping educators bring social, emotional, and ethical learning to life in classrooms worldwide. He supports teachers’ growth, well-being, and effectiveness while guiding SEE Learning programs in elementary schools. Tenzin also leads initiatives to prepare indigenous monastic science educators and holds a PhD in Teaching and Teacher Education from the University of Arizona.
